A well-known Mayo GAA club referee celebrated a big win far away from the pitch this week, when he scooped a cool five-figure sum in a club jackpot draw.
Kevin Connelly is a well-known referee within the local Gaelic games scene, having taken charge of games in parks and pitches across this sports-mad county.
The Hollymount-Carramore clubman has taken charge of many a big tie in his time, including the replay of last year's Mayo Senior Club Championship final between Ballina Stephenites and Westport.
This month, though, he was toasting a different kind of success, as he won a major sum in the club jackpot of his own club, Hollymount-Carramore.
The whistler picked up a nice €12,100 in the jackpot, with the lucky numbers being 9, 12, 17, and 24.
He wasn't the only winner on the night, as Sean Holohan, Trevor Godwin, and Joan Morris took home €20.
The jackpot has now been reset, with the ball getting rolling once more at €5,000.
