Finbar McLaughlin (Dublin City University)
A speedy and talented forward, McLaughlin was unfortunate to pick up an injury in last season’s Sigerson competition. DCU are the reigning champions and this year, the Dublin based students will be looking to go back to back.
The Westport man offers plenty of firepower in attack as he also has an eye for goal. Younger brother of Eoghan, Finbar can play at wing back but just as often plays in the half forward line where his speed a real asset.
In total there are 29 Mayo players involved in this year’s competition which is due to start tomorrow (Tuesday January 6). You can find details of the Mayo contingent on the next page.
