A trip outside the province beckoned for the Connacht kings, with crowds flocking in Breffni Park in
Cavan hoping to see their hometown heroes book a date in Jones Road.

The game was nip-and-tuck up until the final quarter, with the brave battalions only separated by the
narrowest of margins with the home stretch looming.

To say Tooreen found the Midas touch in the final furlongs would be an understatement.

Shane Boland’s green flag was the catalyst, and the men in blue powered for home, setting up a chance to banish the demons of 2023.
