CONNACHT IHC QUARTER-FINAL
Tooreen 1-17 Four Roads 1-12
The visit to Hyde Park to take on Roscommon’s finest was far from plain sailing, but the Blue Devils were full value for their five-point victory on the road.
The game was nip and tuck in Act One, with Shane and Fergal Boland leading the charge for the visitors as they endeavoured to take the game to their last-eight adversaries.
The first innings was the scene of a bizarre occurrence, as Four Roads defender Jimmy Hoey mis-placed a pass back to his net-minder Noel Fallon which sailed between the sticks for an own-point.
However, that wasn’t the highlight of the game.
A beautiful sweeping team-move with the last quarter on the horizon culminated in Kenny Feeney slamming into the net to put the gap out to six and take the game away from Four Roads.
