OCTOBER:
Month of finals light up county
After a thrilling final with a million twists and turns, Frank Irwin’s monster two-pointer was enough to force a replay between Ballina Stephenites and Westport.
A week later, the Evan Regan-led comeback to secure a Moclair Cup three-peat was nothing short of
unbelievable.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom for The ‘Port, though, as their ladies' side backed up their maiden county
title in 2024 with a whopper second-half innings to down Knockmore and scale the mountain-top once
more.
Both Kilmeena and Kiltimagh bounced back from 2024 relegation to clinch the Intermediate and Junior
crowns, respectively, and the same could be said for Swinford-Killasser in the Junior LGFA jive.
Claremorris secured history and danced wildly in MacHale Park as they won their first ever Intermediate Ladies title.
Mayo FC secure O’Neill signature
In a momentous occasion in the trajectory of Mayo FC, the club announced that Anthony O’Neill would
be taking the role of manager of their new Under-20 Men’s side.
O’Neill joined the club having been Director of Football with Westport United throughout 2025, where he also managed the first team.
