Ballina Stephenites have qualified for yet another final on the back of impressive performances
Mayo Senior Football Championship: Semi-final
Ballina Stephenites 1-12
Knockmore 0-8
In Crossmolina
The champions were dominant in every sense of the word. Ballina might have only beaten their neighbours Knockmore by seven points.
But in this case, the scoreboard lied to a degree as Ballina produced one of the most comprehensive seven-point victories in the history of the game.
Frank Irwin gave an exhibition that afternoon. The Stephenites man's sky-walking was a joy to behold as he ruled the airways and his running power caused Knockmore all sorts of trouble.
To Knockmore's credit, they never stopped trying, but eventually, Ballina cruised to victory and booked the ticket for a fourth successive senior final.
A spread of seven different scorers for Ballina also showed, that the responsibility rests on many shoulders.
