It has been revealed that Mayo minor football managers Tom Reilly and David Heaney have stepped away from their roles.

At a meeting of the Mayo GAA Executive and club delegates this evening (Monday, July 7), it was revealed that the pair would be stepping away in the wake of their All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Kerry last month.

Personal reasons were cited as the reason for the departures.

Both Reilly and Heaney were appointed to guide the brightest young talents in Green and Red all the way back in August 2023.

Provincial glory arrived for the pair in 2024, as their troops scaled the Connacht summit with a four-point victory over their Roscommon counterparts to secure three provincial crowns in a row for the county, before exiting at the hands of Armagh.

This season saw another solid run for Mayo's young cubs, where they also made it to the last-four of the All-Ireland series before bowing out to the Kingdom.
