Belmullet 0-10 Knockmore 1-12

Knockmore were to the fore as they travelled West to Belmullet, and returned five-point victors on Saturday evening.

The visitors were in good fettle despite missing a penalty early doors, and the work of Aiden Orme up top was to the fore.

The sides were level at five apiece as they headed for the Tallagh dressing rooms at half-time.

Belmullet battled well despite their plethora of absentees and threadbare subs bench, with Anthony and Daniel Barrett the standout performers for the hosts.

However, victory proved a bridge too far for the Erris men, and Knockmore recorded their third win of the campaign.

Hollymount-Carramore 1-17 Moy Davitts 4-17

A quartet of green flags proved decisive as Moy Davitts found their groove to dispatch of Hollymount-Carramore.

The forwards for visitors Moy Davitts proved a handful, with Oisín McHugh popping up with two goals, as well as Ronan Clarke kicking seven points.

That wasn’t to say that Holly-Carra didn’t have chances to ripple the net themselves, however, Chris McGlynn was exceptional between the sticks to deny the hosts.

Darren Coen was in sparkling form for Holly-Carra with seven scores of his own. However, come full-time, it was Moy Davitts heading home with the league points in tow

Westport 1-17 Garrymore 3-14

Garrymore recorded their first win of the league after an impressive performance by Clew Bay.

Westport started proceedings brightly and scored 1-4 without reply in the first nine minutes. Garrymore managed to bring the deficit back to four going into the break, thanks to 1-4 from Darren Quinn.

Again, Westport started stronger in the second period, with three points without reply. Garrymore then scored 1-2 to leave Westport just two points ahead. After a Westport free, Garrymore scored another 1-2 without reply and went ahead for the first time in the 42nd minute. After an exchange of scores.

Westport managed to bring the game back level in the 57th minute, but Garrymore finished stronger with points from Mark Gibbons and Joey Ferriter, rounding off a significant win.

Mayo Gaels 1-13 Claremorris 0-19

A twelve-minute second-half scoring spree proved to be the difference as Claremorris recorded a three-point win over Mayo Gaels in the short jaunt to Mayo Abbey.

Mayo Gaels were to the fore in the opening half of the tie, with the likes of Adam Gallagher and Liam Hughes finding range early on.

At the other end, James Shaughnessy put in a solid showing to keep Claremorris within touching distance and four behind at half time.

Then came the eight-point spree to flip the script. Cathal and Darren Joyce, as well as David O’Reilly, were all to the fore as Claremorris surged ahead, and despite Sean Keane’s goal, Mayo Gaels were unable to battle back.

Balla 0-10 Ballintubber 0-22

Cillian O’Connor was on fire and scored twelve points as his Ballintubber side put Balla to the sword in ruthless fashion.

O’Connor opened the scoring early doors, before Michael Plunkett’s two-pointer had the travelling side five points up before Balla got off the mark.

Darren McHale opened the scoring for Balla, and the hosts managed to reel in Saturday’s opponents to three as half-time loomed, but that would be as good as it got, as O’Connor notched a two-point free to stretch it out to five.

Three placed balls early in Act Two would be Balla’s downfall, as the gap grew to nine within seven minutes, and from there, there was no turning back as the visitors waltzed to victory.

Kiltimagh 1-9 Lahardane MacHales 2-15

Visitors Lahardane shored up their defence and came away with a much-needed win in a sunny Kiltimagh.

Kyran Jordan was to the fore, and his goals on either side of half-time were crucial in securing the points on the board for Lahardane, who recorded their first win and propelled themselves out of the relegation spots.

Shane Finnerty also excelled for the visitors, as two orange flags helped him to a 0-7 scoring haul.

The Neale 2-30 Breaffy 0-3

The Neale put in a resounding performance to record a facile 36-point win over Breaffy’s ‘B’ understrength side in Cong on Sunday morning.

It was a difficult day at the office for the travelling side, and come half-time, they were trailing by 1-13 to no score.

Following the changeover, the men in blue and white did manage to at least make some sort of impact on the scoreboard. However, the hosts ran riot, notching another whopping 1-17 in the second half to round off a bit of a whipping for the Breaffy boys.

It was a clash that ebbed and flowed, and at times it looked as though Ballycroy had a chance of getting their first win of the campaign.

However, in the end, the hosts, managed by Shane Moran, did enough to secure a win and keep themselves in the mix in a razor-tight battle for promotion this season.
