THE fall-out from Storm Éowyn continues this morning with news that some of Mayo's Allianz League fixtures may be impacted. The savage winds caused mayhem across the county and Hastings Insurance MacHale Park did not escape without damage.

An assessment of the stadium was carried out in recent days and a set of floodlights have been taken down. Therefore, Sunday's match against Galway has already been given an earlier throw-in time of 2.30pm in order to ensure it finishes in daylight.

The Mayo News understands that Mayo GAA have been in consultation with GAA authorities to discuss the upcoming games scheduled for Castlebar which include matches against Tyrone on Sunday, February 16, Kerry on Saturday, March 5 and Donegal on Sunday, March 23.

The floodlight issue should have no impact on the Tyrone match as it is scheduled for 1.45pm but the throw-in time for the game against Kerry looks like it will have to amended as it is due to begin at 5pm.

It's expected the much-heralded meeting between Connacht Rugby and Munster on Saturday, March 29 in Castlebar will not be impacted by the latest developments.
