BALLINROBE GAA Club have announced Eoin Hughes from The Neale as their new intermediate men’s team manager.

Hughes, who managed The Neale during their run to the 2019 Mayo intermediate title, takes over from Peter Ford, who guided his native club to the 2023 county final during a three-year stint.

Hughes’ backroom team includes All-Ireland club title-winning Kieran Fitzgerald. The ex-Galway and Corofin defender works locally with An Garda Síochána and has been involved with Garrymore’s senior team for a number of years.

Former Ballinrobe footballers Conor Keane and Ruairi Keane will also join Hughes’ backroom team for the 2025 season.

Ballinrobe reached this year’s county intermediate semi-final, where they were beaten after extra time by the eventual county and provincial champions, Crossmolina.

“Eoin and his backroom team bring with them experience and football knowledge that is hard matched,” Ballinrobe GAA said in a social media post announcing his appointment.

“This is an exciting time for Ballinrobe GAA with a young and talented squad with massive potential. We ask you to join with us in wishing the Eoin and the back room team every success for the years ahead.”
