PADRAIG O’Hora has joined Cillian O’Connor in deciding to step away from the Mayo panel for the 2025 season The Mayo News can confirm.
This comes shortly after it was confirmed that O’Connor will play no part with Mayo side in 2025.
Both O’Hora and O’Connor saw limited game time with Mayo in 2024 as their season ended with a preliminary quarter-final defeat to Derry.
“They informed the management team of their decision to take a year out but are not retiring,” said a senior Mayo GAA official.
Ballintubber’s Michael Plunkett, Ardagh’s James Carr and Castlebar Mitchels’ Rory Byrne will not be involved with Mayo for the coming year and have gone back to their clubs.
The Mayo squad have begun individual training and are due to return to collective training shortly.
