MAYO LGFA have confirmed the appointment of their U-14, U-16 and Minor managers for the coming year.

All-Ireland winning coach Tom Carney has been formally ratified as manager of the U-14 squad, who defeated Sligo to win a Connacht title earlier this year.

The Ballinrobe clubman has appointed Mayo LGFA Secretary Siobhán Conlon and Francis McDonnell (both Parke/Keelogues/Crimlin) to his backroom team.

Carney, who coached the Ballinrobe Community School ladies team to a junior All-Ireland ‘C’ title in March, takes over from former Mayo footballer Sinéad Stagg. The Hollymount clubwoman managed the Mayo U-14s to an All-Ireland ‘Platinum’ title when they defeated Cork in the 2023 decider.

Francis Regan, who guided the Mayo U-16s to the All-Ireland ‘A’ final in the summer, has been ratified for another year as manager. Regan’s coaching ticket, which consists of Colin Doherty, Orla McHale, and Donal Hughes, will remain in situ.

Similarly, Mayo Minor manager Brian McLoughlin has been ratified for another year in charge.

The Burrishoole man has retained fellow clubman John McDonnell and Carnacon siblings Michelle and Tom McGing on his coaching ticket for the 2025 season.

McLoughlin led Mayo unbeaten to the Connacht final where Galway narrowly defeated them despite a spirited comeback.
