AN impressive Louisburgbh outfit secured the U-16 B county title with a well-earned win over Moy Davitts this evening.

An early goal from Thomas O’Toole meant the boys from God’s Pocket were rarely troubled in a game where they were on top from start to finish.

The winners had plenty of possession and used it well throughout the game and were comfortably 2-7 0-2 ahead at half-time thanks to goals from O’Toole and Michael Ball.

Despite them trailing, Moy Davitts kept the faith and outscored their opponents 0-7 to 1-2 in the second half.

Louisburgh goalie Luke Cox was called into action at one stage to deny Moy Davitts Dean Butler a goal. At the other end, Louisburgh’s impressive midfielder and captain Paul O’Malley narrowly missed the inside of the posts while Michael Ball could only find the outside of the net with another effort.

Moy Davitts were an improved team in the second half, but this wasn’t enough to come within touching distance of Louisburgh, who added an insurance goal near the end of normal time when Michael Ball played a lovely pass into Diarmuid Coen who finished impressively.
