THE Mayo Minor ladies will contest the Connacht Minor A Football Final on May 18 following an unbeaten run in the round robin phase of the competition.

Last night’s 5-9 1-2 win over Sligo in Swinford has seen Brian McLoughlin’s side qualify for the provincial decider following four impressive victories.

Mayo will learn their final opponents next week following the Round 5 meetings of Sligo versus Roscommon and Galway versus Leitrim. The venue for the final has yet to be confirmed.

Sligo have six points from two wins and one loss while Roscommon and Leitrim are both tied on three points after securing one win each from their three games.

Mayo have won their four Connacht championship games by a combined margin of 57 points this year.

Galway ran them closest when the Tribeswomen lost out by two points in a thrilling clash in Milltown.

The Mayo squad features a number of survivors from the team that lost to Galway in last year's Connacht final.
