Bekan man Tommy Duggan will be forever loved and deeply missed by his heartbroken wife and daughter, his sorrowing parents and siblings.
Funeral arrangements have been announced for the late Tommy Duggan of Spotfield, Bekan, Claremorris, whose death has been met with deep sadness across the local community and beyond.
Tommy is remembered as a beloved husband to Martina and a devoted father to Éabha. He was predeceased by his precious daughter Saoirse, a loss he carried with immense love and strength.
He will be deeply missed by his heartbroken family, including his wife and daughter, his parents Jim and Bridie (née Heneghan), sister Corina, brother Paul, parents-in-law Pat and Rose O’Brien, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and his wide circle of friends.
Tributes have been paid to Tommy’s boundless positivity and kindness, with many describing him as a man whose warmth, smile and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His family said that his light will live on in all who knew and loved him.
The family have also expressed their sincere thanks to the emergency services and to all medical and healthcare staff for the care and compassion shown to Tommy.
Tommy will repose at Donnellan’s Funeral Home, Clare Street, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo (F35 PK68), on Friday, January 16, from 4pm to 7pm.
The funeral cortège will arrive at Bekan Church on Sunday, January 18, for Requiem Mass at 1.30pm, followed by burial in the local cemetery. The Funeral Mass may be viewed live via the Bekan Parish webcam.
The house is strictly private by request, and the family have asked that their wishes be respected. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust or The Gavin Glynn Foundation.
Tommy is fondly remembered as a great father, husband, son, brother and friend, whose smile and kindness that knew no end.
