Tributes have poured after a little girl from Mayo sadly passed away recently, leaving her family and community heartbroken.
Saoirse Duggan from Bekan in Claremorris sadly passed away after battling cancer.
On RIP.ie the family have paid special thanks to all the medical and healthcare staff who looked after Saoirse with such care, kindness, and love during her illness.
Saoirse has left behind her devastated parents Tommy and Martina and sister Éabha.
Mayo Gardai have made a special tribute to the little girl on Facebook that said:
"Our hearts are saddened to hear that one of our Little Blue Heroes in Mayo, Honorary Garda Saoirse Duggan passed away peacefully after a long illness so bravely borne, leaving behind
"Saoirse’s time with us was far too short, but her impact was immeasurable."
Tributes have poured in with heartfelt messages from all over, with one mourner writing: "Rest is peace little Saorise and may God give your parents and family strength at this difficult time. Thinking of you all. May this beautiful angel Rest in peace".

"Dear Martina, Tommy and Éabha. I'm heartbroken for you, I'm heartbroken for your extended family and everyone who knew Saoirse. I'm just heartbroken. Finding the words that honor Saoirse's short life is impossible, such a precious light in this world, so full of love and incredible bravery. May you find comfort in your beautiful memories, and in the love that surrounds you. I am holding you in my heart during this unimaginably difficult time. With deepest sympathy and all my love, Jan," a tribute read.
"Rip beautiful little Saoirse. Thoughts to your family and friends and everyone your little light touched," another person said.
"Poor little pet god help the poor family. May this little angel Rest ln peace. This is just heartbreaking," another person said.
Saoirse's funeral Mass is taking place today at Bekan Church, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
