'A true gentleman' - Mayo community mourns the loss of much-loved local man

Tributes have been made following the death of Sean Bourke of Courthouse Street in Killala, County Mayo

Sean passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday,  March 23. The local man leaves behind his siblings Mary, Danno, Tommy and Teresa, extended family and friends. 

Many have taken to share kind words following Sean's passing on his RIP.ie notice as well as to express their deepest sympathies with his family. 

One person wrote: "We are shocked and saddened by the news of Sean’s sudden passing. Sean was a true gentleman, a quiet man but had a great sense of humour too. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered."

Another shared: "I have lovely memories of working with Sean in Killala, his dedication and his shyness at first but his quick wit and sense of fun when he got to know you. A pleasure to work with."

Someone else said: "He was a true gentleman and a great footballer in his day."

Sean will be reposing at Lynn's Funeral Home in Killala on Wednesday, March 26 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral mass will take place on Thursday at 12pm at St Patrick's Church in Killala, followed by burial in Killala Cemetery.
