'One of nature's gentlemen' - tributes paid after Mayo man's passing

Gabriel Gallagher, Claremont Manor, Knock Road, Claremorris, Mayo, RIP

THE death took place recently at his residence of Gabriel Gallagher, Claremont Manor, Knock Road, Claremorris, Mayo.

He was son of the late Willie and Una Gallagher and a brother of the late Frank and Martha.

Gabriel was a gentle and kind soul who went quietly along life’s pathways. He had a deep and abiding faith and was a regular at church ceremonies in Claremorris over the years.

Mary Ryan, Irishtown and Galway, was among those leading the tributes to Gabriel. “He was one of nature’s gentlemen and it was nice to have known him and enjoyed his company on many family occasions.

"He had a keen interest in cars and numbers.”

MaryRose McLoughlin, Kilbeg (Claremorris) and Monaghan commented: “I have fond memories of Gabriel in Kilbeg. He was a lovely neighbour.”

Reposing was in Gilligan’s Funeral Home and interment took place in St Colman’s cemetery following Requiem Mass in Claremorris Church.

Gabriel is survived by his sisters Anne (Naughton) and Mary (Mannion), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, and the extended family, neighbours and friends.
