The 2nd prize of half a ton of turf went to Marion Mahon, Knock Road, Claremorris. Third prize of a Christmas cake and bottle of whiskey was won by Jim Campbell, The Country Club, Hollybrook and 4th prize of hamper went to Michael McNamara, Conloughfad. Paul Keane of Keane’s Butchers, Claremorris, also won a bottle of whiskey.
Due to the generosity of local sponsors, the Community Council was able to add three additional prizes to the raffle on the night. Andrea Barnicle, Gorlough, was the winner of the 15 bags of turf; Alannah Lynskey, Garrymore, won the set of six Christmas Cups, and Louise Campbell, Ballynew, won the bottle of Baileys.
Taugheen Community Council has extended grateful thanks to all who supported the raffle and they also wish all their supporters a happy Christmas and all the best for 2026.
