The play, set in a rural Irish 90s pub, tells the story of the routine of the pub’s locals being thrown into disarray when an attractive stranger with a solemn tale tells her story.
This will be the last chance to catch the play before the group takes to the stage at the All-Ireland Confined Finals, which take place in Claremorris.
The group will be performing on Saturday, April 26, at the event, which runs from April 25 to May 3. The cast and crew of ‘The Weir’ will be hoping to capture honours on home turf at the awards ceremony on Sunday, May 4.
The show has already received plenty of rave reviews on the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland Festival Circuit, having won three firsts, two seconds, and two thirds in their tour of the country.
Tickets for Upstage Players’ production of ‘The Weir’ in The Mall Theatre, Tuam, on April 10 and 11 cost €15, and can be purchased in Quinn’s Shop, Tuam, or at the door in The Mall.
