Volunteers with the Croagh Patrick Volunteer Ambassador Programme standing in front of Croagh Patrick with uniforms sponsored by Portwest Westport
The Croagh Patrick Volunteer Ambassador Programme has had its new summer uniforms sponsored by Portwest Westport.
The programme aims to preserve the safety and integrity of Croagh Patrick, with trained volunteers tasked with advising visitors of ‘Leave No Trace’ principles and encouraging climbers to respect the mountain by the mountain path.
Tony McCabe, a Croagh Patrick Volunteer Ambassador, expressed gratitude to Harry Hughes, Portwest Westport’s sponsor, and Daniel Chapman, Brand Marketing Manager at Portwest, for their input and support in making this donation come to fruition.
Established in Westport in the 1904s, Portwest employs a large number of people locally and is one of the country’s leading clothing manufacturers.
“Our work is a labour of love, and these uniforms not only enhance our visibility but also symbolise the unity and dedication of our volunteer team,” said Mr McCabe. “We are committed to ensuring the safety of every visitor to Croagh Patrick, and these uniforms will allow us to carry out our duties with even greater effectiveness.”
