Mayo woman named first nominee for 2026 Mum of the Year award
Popular Castlebar content creator Caitlín Kirrane has been recognised for sharing family life, health challenges and self-build journey
A Castlebar mother has been named the first nominee for the 2026 Beko & Woman’s Way Mum of the Year Awards.
Caitlín Kirrane, a mother of four, has been selected as the first nomination of this year’s awards, which celebrate mothers across Ireland who make a positive impact on their families, communities and wider society.
Caitlín has built a large and loyal following on social media through her honest and relatable content documenting family life, health challenges and the realities of raising four children. She has openly shared her experiences of living in a mobile home while pursuing the family’s dream of building their own house, as well as discussing her recent ADHD diagnosis.
Her online journey began while living in Australia with her husband and young family. Feeling isolated from family and friends back home, Caitlín started sharing videos on YouTube as a way of keeping loved ones updated on family life.
Since returning to Ireland, she has expanded her presence across Instagram, TikTok and other platforms, where thousands of followers engage with her candid updates.
The awards, now in their 23rd year, the Beko & Woman’s Way Mum of the Year Awards recognise women whose dedication, resilience and commitment often go unnoticed despite the difference they make every day.
Nominations for the Mum of the Year Awards are now open across Ireland. Family members, friends, colleagues and community groups are invited to nominate mothers they believe deserve recognition for their contribution to family and community life.
Finalists will be invited to attend a special ceremony later this year, where the overall Beko & Woman’s Way Mum of the Year Award winner will be announced. Celebrity Mum of the Year and a Special Recognition Award will also be presented.
Each finalist will receive a Beko CaffeExperto bean-to-cup coffee machine, while the overall winner will receive a €2,500 voucher to spend on Beko appliances.
