From this Wednesday, (March, 11), BreastCheck will be providing screening at a mobile screening unit on the grounds of Mayo University Hospital.

The HSE has said that women in Mayo are now starting to receive their screening appointment letters.

BreastCheck is encouraging all women who get an invite to attend their appointment or contact their BreastCheck unit if they can't attend.

BreastCheck is Ireland's national breast screening programme that offers free mammograms (breast x-rays) to women aged between 50 and 69 years old.

The goal is to detect breast cancer at an early stage when it is easier to treat and before symptoms appear.
