Mayo University Hospital overcrowding continues to increase

INMO trolley watch has today (Monday, February 2) released figures stating that 32 patients are awaiting a bed at Mayo University Hospital. 

A high number of patients are currently awaiting a bed at Mayo University Hospital, according to figures released by INMO trolley watch. 

There are currently 32 patients without beds at MUH, with 14 in the emergency department and 18 in wards elsewhere.

Nationally, 559 admitted patients are waiting for beds across the country. 356 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 203 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

Last month, 455 patients were recorded as waiting for a hospital bed at MUH, which represents a decrease from 503 patients in February 2025.
