Mayo Autism Parent Support Group resumes important meetings

The Mayo Autism Parent Support Group is back! It helps provide valuable peer & emotional support, in a safe space with other parents who just 'get it'.

The meetings in the Family Resource Centre Castlebar can bring some welcomed stress relief to the parents, who leave feeling validated, seen and heard. These meetings also help us to celebrate the diversity of our kids, while also revelling in their accomplishments. It's not all serious, we have bonded as parents and enjoy great laughs too.

On a practical side, parents can share experiences of dealing with assessments, school and navigating life with their autistic child/teen.

This group was born after a gap was identified for supporting parents, who met during the Middletown Centre of Autism training, in Castlebar in 2023.

Today's meeting will be from 7pm-8.30pm in the Family Resource Centre, Chapel Street, F23 PH39.
