THE Kiltimagh native Hazel Finn delivered another great performance to help Trinity Meteors punch their ticket for the Women's Super League final. The Mayo basketballer scored 14 points and grabbed an impressive 16 rebounds in a shock win over back-to-back champions Killester BC on Saturday evening.
The title defenders had dominated the league during the regular season, ending up on a 14-4 win record. They were clear favourites on their home court going into this semi-final.
But Hazel Finn and her Trinity Meteors teammates proved to be formidable party crashers and stayed composed in a very close game against their Dublin rivals.
Meteors entered the final quarter with an eight point lead, but Killester showed a champion's heart and started chipping away at it.

The game's top scorer, Killester's Samantha Haiby (29 pts), drove to the basket and drew the foul, subsequently making both free-throw's to tie the game and force overtime.
The pressure was on for Meteors who had almost managed to close out the win, and now momentum and the home crowd were behind the champions. But Finn and her colleagues kept their calm. Especially Kylie Horstmeyer had a stellar day as she scored 17 points and collected 13 rebounds.
Meteors needed a bit of luck in a hectic finish, as Killester's sharpshooter Michelle Clarke went for a three-pointer and the win, but her shot bounced off the rim and Trinity Meteors had pulled off a huge play-off upset.
Irish international Hazel Finn will get to play for a trophy again. Last season, she was named player-of-the-match in her performance off the bench in the National Cup final win with her former team FloMAX Liffey Celtics.
Trinity Meteors will now face UCC Glanmire in the Super League final. The Cork team beat Finn's former team Liffey Celtics 89-72 in their semi-final at the Mardyke Arena. The big final will be played on Sunday, April 12, at 1.15pm in the National Basketball Arena Dublin.
