WATCH: Passengers disembark after fire on Mayo-bound train

Irish Rail have issued a statement on the incident, which occurred on the Dublin to Westport service

A reported fire on an Irish Rail train heading for Mayo has forced the disembarkment of passengers from the service.

The incident, which occurred on the 12.45 pmservice travelling from Dublin to Westport, has forced passengers to detrain some 15 kilometres from Roscommon town.

No passengers or Irish Rail staff are reported to have been injured. 

In a recent update on social media Irish rail have said Westport services remain suspended until further notice. Staff are sourcing bus transfers for affected services. Irish rail have added updates will follow as further information is available.
