A fire occurred on the 12.45pm train service from Dublin to Westport.
An incident on an Iarnród Éireann train service this afternoon from Westport to Dublin has forced passengers to disembark the service close to Roscommon town.
It is understood a fire broke out in one of the carriages, forcing the train to stop in a rural area 15 kilometres from Roscommon town. Fire and ambulance services along with Gardaí are attending the scene and are helping passengers to detrain but thankfully no passengers appear to have been injured. It is understood the fire services had to cut through an iron fence to allow passengers to detrain and emergency ladders on the board the train also had to be deployed. No further information is available at present.
