The Sean Duffy Community Centre will be demolished as part of the development in Ardnaree.
Ardnaree Sarsfields GAA Club has received planning permission for the construction of a new community centre and sports facility.
Mayo County Council has approved the demolition of the existing Sean Duffy Community Centre to make way for the proposed development, which will serve as a community and sports facility adjacent to the Ardnaree Sarsfields sports pitch.
The project also includes the provision of a new car park, connections to essential services, and all associated site works.
The site is located on the eastern side of Ballina, in Abbeyhalfquarter, to the rear of an established terrace of residential properties along Healy Terrace. It currently comprises an existing community centre, grass playing pitch, astro pitch, parking and associated facilities and is the home ground for Ardnaree Sarsfields GAA.
Planning permission has been granted subject to 11 conditions.
