The weekend saw some big contenders fall, and now the Sweeney Cup is within touching distance for a lucky quartet

The stakes in the Mayo Intermediate Championship skyrocketed over the weekend, as the pool of potential champions was scythed in half at the quarter-final stage.

There was no want of high-octane drama as four clubs inched ever closer to the mountain top, as some key contenders fell by the wayside.
