A ‘beautifully renovated’ cottage on Clare Island has gone up for sale in Mayo.
The two bedroom house is situated on approximately two acres at Ballytoohy Beg, Clew Bay, and has an asking price of €420,000.
The property is a six minute drive from Clare Island Pier, and was purchased by the present owners in 2012, who then carried out a series of sustainable renovations on the property.

Auctioneer Helen Cassidy - who specialises in rural Ireland dream homes - said that there has been a lot of interest in the island home already.
Speaking to The Mayo News, Ms Cassidy said that the Clew Bay cottage is a “rare opportunity” that does not come along often.
The property owners estimate that the house was built at the end of the 19th century.
Clare Island is accessible to the mainland via a ten minute ferry service that operates year round, five times a day at Roonagh Pier - approximately half an hour’s drive from Westport.
Clare Island is reputed to be the largest of the 365 islands in Clew Bay, and was the ancestral home of pirate queen Grace O'Malley.
The Mayo island is home to an ancient bog forest, a 5,500-year-old megalithic court tomb, a bronze-age fort, a 19th Century Napoleonic Signal Tower, and numerous 3,000 year old fulacht fiadhs.
