The significant decision marks the end of the road at the Ballina club

Ballina Town manager Michael Duffy has confirmed his departure from the role of manager.

The club on the banks of the Moy will now need to look for a fresh face in the dugout for the 2027 Super League campaign.

The decision brings the curtain down on a spell on the sidelines spanning two years.

His last game in charge was a 5-2 League defeat at the hands of Ballyheane on Sunday in Belleek Park.

Duffy made the decision in light of increased work commitments.

His departure comes as the North Mayo men sit fourth in the top flight with only two more games to play. If they remain in fourth spot, they will have equalled their 2025 positioning.

Ballina Town are still to face the top two, Castlebar Celtic and Westport United, in League fare, while they are also in the Super Cup final.

Duffy’s assistants, Declan O’Connor and Momme Reibisch, will take charge of the side for the rest of the campaign.

“Ballina Town FC would like to place on record its grateful appreciated to Michael for his dedication and commitment as manager for the past two years and wish him all the very best in his future football endeavours,” a club statement concluded.
