Mayo jersey demand 'absolutely bananas' as Elvery's sell out across county

Demand for Mayo jerseys has surged across Ireland, with retailers struggling to keep shelves stocked after the county's unforgettable weekend.
Before the celebrations had even settled after Mayo's thrilling weekend, supporters had already set their sights on one thing – getting their hands on a Mayo jersey.
According to Aoife Kelly, manager of Intersport Elvery's in Westport, demand has been “absolutely bananas”.
She told The Mayo News that the store had completely sold out of jerseys by Saturday evening.
“We are completely sold out. We have been sold out since Saturday evening of all jerseys,” she said.
The only jerseys still available are the alternative ones, with demand for the county's traditional colours proving overwhelming.
“The last couple of days have been absolutely crazy. We can’t keep on top of anything. We can’t get stock to the floor quick enough.”
Aoife is hopeful fresh supplies, including the champions range, will arrive by the weekend, but said demand continues to outstrip supply.
“Even online, so much is moving to pre-order.” She added that colleagues in Intersport Elvery's stores across the country have reported similar scenes, with Mayo supporters snapping up jerseys as quickly as they become available.
