There has always been debate around how much is the right amount for guests to give newlyweds in the wedding card and it's a topic which often pops up on social media as people panic about what to give.

Despite the cost of living crisis, the price of weddings continue to increase in Ireland and the events themselves have become even more extravagant with day twos and threes and not to mention the foreign stag and hen dos.

Although they are an enjoyable event, the cost and commitment can be burdensome on many people. As the expectation continues to increase for wedding guests in terms of card giving, it is worth wondering when it becomes too much. 

So, how much do you think is appropriate for wedding guests to give?

Of course, there are nuances to this. Most people will attend weddings as couples or bring a plus one, so the amounts may differ for single people. And, it is also worth considering how close guests may be to the people actually getting married.
