Delays for people travelling to iconic Mayo landmark to last weeks

The well-known hiking spot is on the road from Westport
Mayo County Council have informed commuters that delays are imminent on a stretch of road leading to Croagh Patrick for a fortnight.
The road resurfacing works on the route between Westport and the iconic mountain are set to commence today (Thursday, September 17), and run over the course of the next two weeks.
The R-335 links the people of Westport and Louisburgh, and will see the repairs take place between Murrisk Village and Deerpark West.
The Council have advised drivers that temporary traffic management will be in place throughout the duration of the works.
Motorists are also advised to expect delays and allow extra time on their travels.
