Mayo All-Ireland winner's attempt at Welly throwing backfires

The National Ploughing Championships were opened by two Mayo All-Ireland winners, who had the honour to open the traditional welly throwing competition. Let’s just say, it didn’t go as planned for one of them.
They helped Mayo end a 75-year drought and beat Kerry in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final back in July.
The whole county was in party lockdown for a week and Sam Maguire is still travelling up and down to schools, weddings, local businesses or was even carried up Croagh Patrick.
Now, in Tullamore, County Offaly, the National Ploughing Championships have started and Mayo footballers Stepen Coen from Hollymount-Carramore and Crossmolina man Jordan Flynn were given the honour to have a go at the welly throwing event.
It didn’t go too well, as you can watch in the video below.
Stephen Coen and Jordan Flynn helped Mayo to a historic All-Ireland triumph.
Manager Andy Moran, the backroom team and the players toured the county for a whole week.
There were huge crowds everywhere, in Castlebar when they came home the day after the match, in Ballina, Belmullet, Claremorris, Ballyhaunis and Charlestown, only to name a few.
The open top bus tour around the county was a legendary occasion.
