New metals and jewellery studio marks latest milestone in the development of the Arts Centre

Mulranny Arts will celebrate the completion of its new Metals and Jewellery Studio later this month with internationally acclaimed Mayo master goldsmith Nigel O’Reilly.

The celebration will take place on Sunday, June 21, at 2pm and will bring together invited guests, supporters and friends of the arts organisation as it marks another significant step in its ongoing expansion in Mulranny.

The new studio is the latest addition to the Mulranny Arts Art School and Retreat Centre and forms part of a wider vision to establish it as a leading centre for creativity, learning and cultural exchange.

The event will also signal the beginning of a broader programme of celebrations ahead of the official opening of Mulranny Arts’ new facilities later this year.

A major highlight of the gathering will be the attendance of Nigel O’Reilly, one of Ireland’s most celebrated contemporary jewellery artists. The Mayo native has earned international recognition for his work and has become the first Irish goldsmith to be featured by prestigious institutions and luxury retailers including Sotheby’s New York and Bergdorf Goodman.

His award-winning creations have been exhibited and collected around the world, cementing his reputation as one of Ireland’s foremost jewellery makers.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mulranny Arts Founder and Director Cheryl Cobern Browne said the new studio represents an important development for artists and makers in the region.

“This new studio represents another exciting chapter in the evolution of Mulranny Arts,” she said. “We are creating opportunities for artists, makers and learners to develop their skills in world-class facilities here on the Wild Atlantic Way.”

“To have Nigel O’Reilly with us to mark this occasion is a tremendous honour and highlights the growing importance of creative practice and craftsmanship in Mayo and throughout Ireland,” she added.

Mulranny Arts has continued to expand its facilities and programme offerings in recent years, attracting artists, students and visitors to the west Mayo village.

Further details regarding the official opening celebrations and future development plans for Mulranny Arts are expected to be announced in the coming months.
