Mayo church to host summer fete to raise funds for urgent restoration work

Holy Trinity Church invites the community to a free family day of crafts, entertainment and cakes to fund historic repairs
A family-friendly church fete will take place at Holy Trinity Church in Westport, on Saturday, July 18, to help raise funds for urgent restoration work to the historic building.
Running from 12pm to 3pm, the event will feature a variety of attractions, with free admission for all visitors.
Organiser George Keegan, with the support of fellow Vestry members, said the fete promises an enjoyable afternoon for the whole family.
Visitors can browse stalls selling homemade crafts, cakes and plants, while live music will provide entertainment throughout the event.
Children will also have plenty to enjoy, including Tom’s Tombola and Pat’s Putting Green.
Funds raised on the day will go towards essential repair work to the interior of Holy Trinity Church.
If wet weather forces a change of plans, the fete will instead take place in the national school opposite the church.
Organisers have advised that parking will not be available within the church grounds, but spaces should be available nearby.
