Panti Bliss from Ballinrobe is a highlight of this year's edition of Mayo Pride

Mayo Pride is rolling into Westport for the June Bank Holiday weekend, May 29-31.

From late night antics to chilled out sound baths, there's something for everyone at this years Mayo Pride.

The programme has dropped and here are just some highlights:

Friday May 29, 9pm: Panti Bliss - If these wigs could talk

Venue: Pride Festival Club at The Mariner

If These Wigs Could Talk meets notorious drag queen Panti at 54, after a lifetime of accidental activism, far-fetched shenanigans and making a full time show of herself, now taking a moment to question what her purpose and place in this changing world is.

Expect salacious stories, impassioned polemics, and some seriously funny soul searching as Panti takes us from rural Mayo to London’s glittering West End to the Irish Ambassador’s residence in Vienna, where along the way the answer to her existential question presents itself where she least expects it.

Panti invites you to learn from her ridiculous mistakes, laugh at her glittering failures, and share in her triumphs, in this big, beautiful and brilliant night out. Presented in association with THISISPOPBABY.

Saturday May 30: Mayo Pride Parade

Starts at 1.30pm at The Fairgreen, Westport.

The annual Mayo Pride Parade. Pride is still a protest. And it’s still a party!

Meeting Point

The parade will meet at the Fairgreen, Westport from 1:30pm and march around town, returning to the Fairgreen for a for a post-parade party.

Pride on the green

This year the official Pride Parade After-Party lands back where it starts, on the historic Fairgreen in Westport's bustling town centre.

As the parade arrives back around 2.30PM, the grass becomes our dance floor. We’re inviting you to pack your pride picnics or grab a takeaway bite from a local business and settle in for an afternoon of pure queer joy.

Expect top-tier entertainment from Mayo Pride’s finest:

Hosted by Irish icon and heart-throb Joe Dolan, as performed by Breda Larkin

Drag queens extraordinaire, Cornflake Girl and Princess Fianna

Maria Cunningham – a whirlwind of characters, quick changes and sharp comedy.

Westport's own queer indie pop band All Thumbs

And all the bangers from Mayo Pride's resident DJ

So grab your best Judy, your ma, and your newly woke da – this is Westport‘s Fairgreen like you’ve never seen it before.

This is an alcohol-free event, no alcohol will be served on site

Please remember to leave no trace

Wear appropriate footwear – it’s No Mow May, girls!

Please Donate

We will have volunteers collecting at the post parade party. You can donate with card, but cash is always quicker and easier if possible.

Every Euro donated is a vote for equality, connection, here in Mayo.

Pride Youth

We have a Pride Youth group to march in the Parade for any young people who might otherwise be on their own or want to march with others. Family members are welcome to join with you. Meet at the top of the Fairgreen – Look for the Pride Youth Banner. There will also be a Pride Prep Pop Up workshop for everyone earlier in the day which will be another great opportunity to meet people, more info here.

Mobility & Access

For people with mobility issues, please note parts of the parade are hilly. We will have a limited number of seats available in our bicycle rickshaws for those who can not march. Please contact the organisers here if you need assistance and wish to book a seat.

Sunday May 31: Drag Brunch at the Clew Bay Hotel

1.30pm, Clew Bay Hotel
