An emerging young filmmaker from Mayo has been shortlisted for Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of the Year Awards 2026.
Charlie Foy of Rice College, Westport, has been nominated in Best Art Direction for ‘Falling Forever’, a revenge drama centred on a brother seeking justice after tragedy devastates his family.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Mansion House in Dublin on March 26 and will be hosted by filmmaker and actor Seán Treacy as well as actor and podcaster Faye Shortt.

Speaking on the nominees, awards founder Jayne Foley said: “The Connacht regional finalists have delivered an exceptionally high standard this year, with striking originality across thriller, drama and dark comedy. There’s a real sense of ambition and originality in the work, and we are thrilled to see such strong voices coming through.”
All shortlisted films, including ‘Forever Falling’, can be viewed from Monday, March 9, at the Fresh International Festival YouTube channel.
