Mayo County Council have revealed a series of closures to facilitate the 2026 edition of the Mayo Stages Rally.
On Sunday, March 1, motorsport enthusiasts will make their way to the West as a festival of racing takes over the county's roads.
With that in mind, the Council have outlined their plans to facilitate the event.
The first closure is that of the South Mall and Lower Fairgreen in Westport. The closure will take place on Saturday, February 28, from 4 pm to 10 pm.
Saturday will also see the closure of the L-5842 at Roman Island on The Quay.
On Sunday, March 1, a stage in the Clogher Area will mean road closures between 7.45 am and 5.30 pm. The stage will run from the R309-L5849 junction in Kilbree Lower to the L5422-L1810 junction in Derrycooraun. The stage will run through Bullaunmeneen, Tawnyemon, Rushbrook, Clooncanavan, Clogher, Slinaun, Knockmoyleen, Slinaunroe, Derryribbeen, Derrintloura, Ranaghy, Cartronduff, Letter, and Derrycreeve.
The second stage will see closure from 8.15 am to 6 pm. The stage starts in Mace South at the R330-L1813 junction and runs to Liscarney's L5871-N59 junction via the townlands of Cloondacon, Aghagower, Knockakeery, Gorteen, Deerpark, Ballinvoy, Mountbrown, Shanagh, Derrygarve, Lugrevagh, Garrow, Ballyballinaun, Knappaghbeg, Lankill, Lanmore, and Knappaghmanagh.
Finally, the third stage will see commuters affected between 8.55 am and 6.30 pm. Erriff is the start point, at the L1821-L18211 junction, and runs to the L5861-R330 junction, encompassing Derrinkee, Derrycraff, Croaghrimbeg, Croaghrimcarra, Bohaun South, Bohaun North, Arderry, Tonlegee, Aille, and Toberrooaun.
