Festive cheer filled Pilgrims Rest Nursing Home, Westport this week as residents and staff enjoyed a series of heart-warming Christmas visits and celebrations.
On December 16, Transition Year students from Sancta Maria College spent the day at the nursing home, bringing colour and creativity to the building by decorating the windows with beautiful Christmas scenes. The artwork transformed the home into a festive wonderland and brought great delight to residents, visitors and staff alike.
Following the decorating, the students took part in a carol service for the residents.
The festive celebrations continued on Wednesday with a visit from the girls and boys of the Smarties Group in Fahy. On their annual trip to Pilgrims Rest, the group sang, danced and entertained residents with stories, spreading laughter and Christmas spirit throughout the home.
