It was a big day for Mayo News reporter Ronan O'Donnell and his family last Tuesday, as the Kilmeena native graduated with a Masters degree in journalism from the University of Galway.

The son of Martin and Pamela from Carrowbeg, Kilmeena, O'Donnell started working as a full-time employee with The Mayo News in May 2025 and will be familiar to everyone who reads our sports pages or watches the weekly Pitchside.

Never one to sit on the fence, a lot of his journalistic work centres around sports coverage, reporting on GAA matters, but also anything sports related from a Mayo perspective.
