The collision saw fire brigades and An Garda Síochána attended the scene of the incident on the Castlebar Road (N59) in Westport

Mayo emergency services are at the scene of a minor two-vehicle collision in Westport this morning (Friday, October 17).

Traffic on the Castlebar Road (N59) is causing heavy delays both entering and exiting the town at rush hour today, with An Garda Síochána and the fire brigade co-ordinating the removal of the vehicles from the scene.

Commuters in Westport are being advised to allow extra time for their travels.

The collision is set to add even more traffic on a busy day for the town, with road works on the Mall also causing congestion this morning.
