A woman was rescued via helicopter from Croagh Patrick after sustaining injuries in a fall on Sunday.
Mayo Mountain Rescue shared details of the incident and subsequent Rescue 118 mission on social media. In a statement, they said: "On Sunday afternoon, at 3pm, our team along with Coast Guard Rescue 118 were tasked to help a woman who was descending Croagh Patrick with her husband.
"She slipped on the track, about half way down, and sustained an injury to her face/head. She felt unable to continue and called 999 for mountain rescue assistance.
"Rescue 118 landed on the shoulder of the mountain and following assessment, with the help of our first responders, walked the casualty to the Heli for transport to Mayo University Hospital.
"Our team was stood down at 4.30pm," Mayo Mountain Rescue explained.
