Sea2Summit in Westport is due to bring road closures according to Mayo County Council.
Mayo County Council have announced a series of road closures as preparations continue in earnest for this year's Westport Sea2 Summit.
The event, which is a staple of the endurance racing calendar in both Mayo and beyond, will see participants flock to the shores of Clew Bay.
Ahead of people packing their runners and making their way to the 'Port, the Council have revealed their plans to close off certain roads for the race, which takes place on Frida and Saturday, November 7 and 8.
The South Mall and Lower Fairgreen (L 6804) will be closed from 5pm on Friday, November 7, until 5pm on Saturday, November 8. Commuters are advised to use Bridge Street, the North Mall, Castlebar Street, and Distillery Road.
The Upper Fairgreen and Mill Street will also be closed from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, November 8. Diversions will be in place using Bridge Street, Shop Street, the North Mall, James Street, Castlebar Street, and the Distillery Road. Local access to both Mill Street Car parks will be maintained from Bridge Street and High Street.
Roman Island and the junction from the L1801 to Roman Island will be closed, with access to local traffic only.
The Kilsallagh to Drummin road will be closed from 10am to 12noon. The Westport to Louisburgh road, the Westport to Liscarney road, and the Liscarney to Drummin road will remain open and can be used as alternative routes.
