Decisive night ahead for Mayo man on RTÉ's Traitors Ireland 'death row'

Patrick Hughes from Westport is a contestant in The Traitors

Tonight could be the final one in Slane Castle for Mayo man Patrick Hughes.

The Traitors Ireland is now in its third week and having survived elimination on Sunday night, the former Casino manager finds himself on 'death row'.

The intrigue, lying and murders have appealed to audiences' dark side as the contestants battle it out for a potential prize of €50,000.

Despite receiving seven votes at the cruel roundtable and tying with 'Traitor' Andrew, the Westport man is still battling to remain in the show.

One of the most vocal of the remaining characters, Westport’s Patrick Hughes has not been afraid to speak his mind and clashed with fellow contestant Nina in one of the earlier roundtable discussions.

Many will be familiar with his restaurant, the 'á Thai Noodle Bar' on Bridge Street, which he runs with his wife Nikki.

He is also the Chairperson of the Westival Festival and feels any national attention he can draw to Westival can only help the festival grow and thrive.

He has pledged to donate 80% of any winnings back into the local music and arts community through Westival.

A Dublin native, he came to Westport after a high-flying career in the casino industry, starting as a croupier and culminating with running hotel, casino and entertainment businesses in Las Vegas.

Only time will tell whether his experience with card sharks, professional gamblers and billionaire casino owners pays off when the chips are down and his own future at risk.
