A British television superstar is set to touch down in a Mayo bookstore this weekend as part of promotion for her book collection.
Samantha Baines is a multi-award-winning actress, comedian, broadcaster, and best-selling author. TV audiences will best know her for her roles in ‘Call the Midwife’ and ‘The Crown’, as well as her roles as a BBC Radio Presenter.

On Saturday, July 19, Samantha will be returning to her ancestral home of Mayo for an appearance in Seamus Duffy’s Bookstore in Westport at 1pm.
Samantha has plenty of familial ties to the county, and her mother recently moved to Mayo.
The meet and greet and book signing is part of promotion of three of her books; her two children’s books (‘Harriet versus the Galaxy’ and ‘The Night the Moon Went Out’), as well as her best-seller, ‘Living with hearing loss and deafness: a guide to owning it and loving it’.
Samantha wears hearing aids herself and is an ambassador for the Royal National Institute for Deaf People.
The books have received plenty of great reviews, including from Dublin-born television presenter Laura Whitmore, who labelled the latter ‘heartfelt and hilarious’, describing it as ‘deaf awareness beautifully told through Sam’s unique voice’.
