DO NOT SWIM HERE: Another Mayo beach closed due to water quality issues

The beach affected by a Do Not Swim notice issued by Mayo County Council

A second Mayo beach has been hit with a Do not Swim notice by Mayo County Council.

Only yesterday, Clare Island Beach was closed following the results of water samples.

And now a second beach is off limits for swimmers.

This time, it's Carrowmore Beach in Louisburgh that was closed by the authorities due to water quality issues.

Mayo County Council stated that resampling will take place and the notice remains in place until water quality improves.
