The Misunderstood Heron was a popular place among Mayo people
The future of an outdoor restaurant, popular with many Mayo people, has become clearer.
News has been shared about the future of The Misunderstood Heron. The eatery based in Leenane had to shut down three weeks ago, as reported by The Mayo News.
Many personalities voiced their opinion back then. Former Mayo footballer Lee Keegan replied 'Heartbreaking'. Travel influencer and radio host Roz Purcell wrote 'Hope there’s a resolution/ nearby location found'.
Back then, the Misunderstood Heron closed their announcement on Instagram by saying 'Goodbye to 8 jobs, let's make it a weekend to remember' as they enter their final days of business.
Operated by husband-and-wife Kim Young and Reinaldo Seco since 2017, the café had become a staple of journeys to Connemara for its blend of Chilean and Irish cuisine.
Galway County Council commented in a statement, that they were 'left with no choice' in the matter: "There had never been any planning applications made by the Misunderstood Heron to develop and operate in the Leenane area."
Now, the Paraic Dan's Pub and Restaurant in Killadoon, Louisburgh, has shared an update, regarding the future of The Misunderstood Heron. The restaurant will have a pop up stand at Paraic Dan's Pub:
"We are thrilled to welcome The Misunderstood Heron to P. Dan's this summer! From the June Bank Holiday weekend you will be able to enjoy amazing food, drinks and our breathtaking views, with indoor and outdoor dining."
